Cyclone the storm is forecast to become a uncommon category five cyclone as it shifts towards the Caribbean island, bringing life-threatening sudden floods and rock falls.

The cyclone, which recorded wind speeds of up to 120 mph as of 0600 Greenwich Mean Time, is currently turning northwest in the Caribbean and is projected to make landfall by Tuesday, as reported by weather experts.

Alerts of electricity outages and damage to infrastructure have been announced as this storm generates up to thirty inches of precipitation and coastal flooding as high as thirteen feet above normal levels. "Seek shelter now," locals have been urged.

This hurricane is the thirteenth hurricane in this year's Atlantic storm period, which usually concludes in late autumn.

A Category 5 cyclone is the most intense classification, with winds of at least 157 miles per hour.

Locals are being told to protect their properties with sandbags and plywood sheets, and to stock up on basic necessities.

Warnings are also active for areas in the neighboring country including the capital, Port au Prince, the adjacent nation and eastern Cuba, where this storm is expected to bring analogous consequences by the middle of next week.

Rock slides already being caused by the storm have already killed two in Haiti, according to local authorities.

Melissa is forecast to cross Cuba by Wednesday before moving through the Greater Antilles and emerging into the Atlantic Ocean.

By the point it reaches the Caribbean nation, it is anticipated to have diminished to a category three hurricane.
