I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
